According to what was reported by the Police, the victim suffered a decompensation in the Wiñay Wayna sector, in the province of Urubamba. He was assisted by personnel from the National Service for Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sernap), the Ministry of Culture and a private clinic. Despite attempts to revive him, the foreigner died.
According to the investigations, the official tourist guide José Quispe told the Police that the visitor left kilometer 104 at around 9:00 am on Monday morning, arriving at the Quebrada Wiñay Wayna. It is there where the tourist showed heart problems.
The body was transferred to the headquarters of Legal Medicine of the province of Calca, for the necropsy of law. This will determine the exact causes of death. It is the second that occurs in less than a week on this route.
